For both Sydney and Melbourne’s spectacular Lunar New Year events, you will see amazing performances of lion / dragon dances, martial arts and singing. Also there will be stalls, lucky draw, firecrackers and fun activities for the whole family.

For our Woh Hup Lunar New Year Cooking Competition in Eastwood, Sydney its fun entertainment for every one. There will be 8 adults and 8 kid’s competing to win the local kitchen crown. On the day of the competition there will be Lion dance, lucky draws and don’t forget to look out for the Wealth God (Tsai Sheng Yeh) who will be giving away Garden lucky candies which may bring you good luck and prosperity.

How the winners will be selected:

- A panel from Berconia Foods and Prima Taste managements will judge the entries and select their favourite 20 Prima Taste creations based on creativity and presentation.

- The selected 20 photos will be uploaded onto Berconia Foods Facebook page on Friday, 29th April 2011, 3pm EST and the public will vote for their favourite Prima Taste creation by clicking on the “Like” icon next to the photo.

- Voting closes on Tuesday, 3rd May 2011, 3pm EST. The photo with the highest votes will win the 1st prize.

- The results of the competition will be announced on Wednesday, 4th May 2011, 3pm EST on the Berconia Foods Facebook page and the prize winners

From all of us at Berconia Foods, we would like to wish everyone a Happy Chinese New Year!

Thank you to all our customers who came to visit us at the Chinese New Year Festival that was held in Belmore Park, Haymarket. We hope you all had a great time at the festival and had an opportunity to sample all sorts of delicious Asian foods while you were there. We would like to give a special thank you to Asian Home Gourmet, Garden, Paldo and many of our other suppliers for taking part in this great festival.

We were very lucky to have nice sunny weather throughout the 3 days of the festival. During the festival there was delicious Asian food, exciting performances, contemporary film, traditional arts and crafts, and more. There was excitement and enjoyment everywhere, dragons and dancing lions swirling through the crowds. Everyone was looking for the ‘God of Good Luck and Good Fortune’ to receive their special red packets (ang pao) or to be blessed with his good luck and good fortune for the coming year.

We were very lucky the God of Good Luck and Good Fortune came and visited our stand and gave us our good luck and good fortune blessing for the year of the Rabbit.

Customers that came and visited our stand got to sample yummy Garden Fortune cookies, Royal Family egg roles, Chi Mei Pineapple Cake, Paldo Pomegranate Aloe drink and many more other yummy products that we had to offer.

We ran a lucky draw that was very popular amongst our customers who got to enter when they purchased products from our stand. And all our customers who came to visit our stand did not leave empty handed as we were giving away a free gift which was sponsored by our suppliers such as Garden calendars, red packets (ang pao), Asian Home Gourmet environmental bags and many more.

Once again thank you to all for your wonderful support. Wishing you a wonderful year, best wishes, prosperity, good health and good fortune to all.
